Raffle

Danniqa won the raffle at school. Each grade has a raffle, they get some tickets for working hard in class but they can also buy some which helps raise money for the school. Danniqa's name got pulled for he three first grade classes. What did she win you ask? She got to have a pancake breakfast with her teacher, got to be teachers helper all day and best of allege got an extra 15 minute recess and could pick any three first graders to go with her. She picked her friends Yvonne, Eve, and Bridget. She said today when she got home that it was so fun!

As a side note, remember when it was fun to be the teachers helper.....

Danniqa's art work

Here is some of Danniqa's art work from the last few months. I am really so impressed with how well she does. We are going to hopefully frame a couple and hang them in our hallway.

 They were doing aliens and could do as many or who ever they wanted. Danniqa did our family. So the littlest one is Jana, then Me, Kevin and Danniqa. So cute!

Arts Night

Danniqa had Arts night tonight. She changed at skating, we got some McDonald's on the way and then went to the school. Danniqa wanted to sit with Jana at her desk.

Skating, Skating and more Skating.

Danniqa is in the Ice Show this weekend. It is Friday and Saturday at 7pm. We would love to have anyone come and watch her. It will be a great show. She has had practice though every night this week so it has been a long week. She is LOVING skating. They had the programs tonight at Dress rehearsal so we bought our copy. Danniqa's picture is in the program isn't she so cute. And then here is her note from us in the program! I am so proud of her and love watching her. She is so cute!

Birthday party

Our niece Alisha turned 25. She LOVES princesses. Her health hasn't been great and we wanted to make sure this birthday was the best. So princesses it was.

 And then.... her favorite princess is Sleeping Beauty. So she came to the party. She was so cute. Alisha was so excited so couldn't stop smiling. And of course her mom and dad loved her reaction more then anything in the world.

 Alisha got to dress up in a Sleeping Beauty dress. Then she read a story.

 Taught her to curtsey, dance and even got her own crown. Alisha got to walk down a red carpet. She had so much fun.

It was a great birthday and I don't think I have ever seen Alisha happier.

Volcano

We decided to make a volcano yesterday. It was fairly easy, though after the fact I was told that it needed to be a LOT bigger. Like as big as me is what Danniqa said.

 Then we found a dinosaur in or lava. Danniqa and the two neighbor kids had a lot of fun. I think we will do this again and make it bigger....just not as big as Danniqa would like.

A whole new world

Until recently we would put a chair to block little girl just in the living room to keep track of her and keep her out of stuff. Well, this week we changed how we "cage" her in. We now have a gate at the top of the stairs that go down and one after teh first landing that goes up the stairs. This means that she can go down the hall into the kitchen and up the stairs part way. I wanted her to learn how to do the stairs and she is learning. She loves being able to go into the kitchen. However, her favorite place is.....

She is figuring out how to get down the stairs but only if she is still trying to get up them. If she is on the landing she cries until I come and get her started on the stairs. She hasn't figured out how to turn around and get started.
