Early birthday fun

On Saturday May 26th we had Danniqa. She is going to be gone on a cruise for her birthday so we wanted to go and play a little before she left for 10 days. She leaves this Friday and is still in school this week so Saturday it was.

That morning, Danniqa was drawing on her white board and Jana came over and grabbed her hand. Danniqa said, "I think she wants me to see something." So Danniqa got up and started to walk away with her. Jana let go over her hand and went up to the white board. We started laughing and Danniqa moved her and went back over. Jana kept trying to pull on her and move her out of the way. Danniqa and I just kept laughing.
Then (no pictures) we went out to Seven Peaks to play in the water and slides and oh my....IT WAS SOOOO COLD! It started to rain and after two hours there they closed the park. However, Danniqa said it was still fun.

Afterward we hung out at the house. Then Danniqa got to pick out her own cake. Here it is.
We had hamburgers for dinner and then had some birthday cake. It was a great day! Oh how I love this little girl. We are really going to miss her when she is gone, and we will be excited to have her back.

Math homework & Shaved Ice

Danniqa hadn't turned in about four math assignments. So Kevin went and talked to her teacher to find out a way to get some credited because it hadn't been taken care of. So while sitting down and working on her math I told her if we could get all of it done, if she wanted to do it all in one day, then she could pick a treat of her choice. So she worked really hard and got it all done. So her grade went from a C to a B+.The next day she got to get her treat.

We went to the shave ice across the street. The owner was working and asked how old Danniqa was. She told him 6. He told her she had broken the record. She was the youngest to ever get the Avalanche. She was pretty happy about this. Here is a picture of her with her treat.
Sitting on the lawn enjoying.
Miss Jana enjoying my shave ice.
Danniqa got chilly. It was a little windy, so she went in and grabbed some blankets to cover up. She didn't eat all of her shaved ice but she ate most of it. She is such a hard worker! I love this little girl!

Random

Jana was eating in the car, lots of food and was so covered in food! So I just took the whole carseat out so that I could get the food off outside. I dumped the carseat over and was pretty grossed out with how much food came out....opps.
Then we had one of those days that little girl was just a mess. The shirt had been stained, the hair had been pulled out of the hair tie. So she was wandering looking sexy!
Then......Danniqa shared a popsicle with her and she thought that was the best thing in the whole entire world

Please, Please

I decided that if Jana was always wanting something, then she should learn how to sign please as well. She does it all the time. I decided to teach her and she figured it out the first day. Now she signs please all the time. It is the cutest thing. She is also LOVING bread. I will hear her grunting and making noises in the kitchen and I will go in and she will be at the counter where the bread is and will be reaching up making noises at me. I will say, "sign please." Then she does and she walks around the house eating bread. I think I could vacumm my floor three times a day and it still wouldn't look clean lately, between her bread and crackers and walking around. I thought to myself I could try and make her stay in the kitchen, but it doesn't matter that much to me. She is pretty cute.

Also Danniqa and I had to laugh the other day. Danniqa was sitting at the wipe off board and Jana came and grabbed her hand. So Danniqa said, "I think she wants me to go with her." So Danniqa got up, Jana let go over her hand, went around her and went up to the wipe off board. Danniqa and I started laughing, so Danniqa went back to the board. Then Jana just stood there and kept pulling on her. This little girl loves to do anything and everything her sister does. I am not looking forward to Danniqa being gone for 10 days with her mom. She will be VERY, VERY missed! I sure love my girls.

We are getting family pictures taken tomorrow. I am a little nervous because we need to look good, and hopefully everyone is in a good mood and I am going to be wearing a VERY pink shirt. So lots to be nervous about.

Opera

Danniqa had her Opera at school last night. It is through Utah Kids Opera. The kids learn how to write lyrics, they come up with the story idea, they make the backgrounds, help make their costumes and then perform. It was THE CUTEST thing. Danniqa did such a great job! I was so proud of her. She was a lava monster.

Danniqa drew and painted the elephant on this backdrop.

Waiting on stage for her turn.
One of her best friends, Eve
 On stage.
 With the sister afterward!
It has been so fun to watch over the last couple of years as Danniqa has opened up and actually sings, and does the actions and maybe, just maybe enjoys herself. Now if anyone wants to see the actual Opera let me know and we may have to meet up. :) So Proud of this kid!

Papa and mama

So I know it has been a lot of post without pictures but I have to record things or I forget. Last Monday night little girlie and I spent the night down at my dad's house so he could watch her for me the next morning while I worked. She still hadn't said mama. I was looking at her and saying papa over and over and what does she do..... She says papa before she ever said mama. She said papa twice and then right after mama. She dis the same thing the next day. My dad is never gong to let me live it down. She now says mama all of the time though.

Favorite things

My favorite thing about yesterday.
Little girl let me know she was awake. I ran into the bathroom first and then I heard Danniqa getting her. Then all three of us crawled back into my bed, Kev was still sleeping. Cuddling with my two girls was my very favorite thing! It was so great, I love them both!

My least favorite thing yesterday, or this morning.
Waking up to Jana crying at 4:30 in the morning. I was going to let her just cry herself back to sleep, but decided to go check on her when she didn't calm down. Luckily I did because she and her bed where covered in vomit. Not my favorite way to wake up.
